Five Edge Kids in 4 Finals at USTA Tournaments 4/17/16
It was a very strong showing of players representing the Edge (High Performance Junior Academy) from Saw Mill Club at the USTA L2 tournament at TI in White Plains this last weekend.
Seeded third in the Boys 12 age group, Edge player Marko Arboleda was victorious in the 32 draw event outlasting top seed Mathew Liew 4-1,4-2, that was his fifth match of the weekend that earned him the Winners trophy.
The Boys 14 age group started with 5 Edge players in the 16 draw event but the final came down to Jacob Miller beating his Edge compatriot Jeremy Tetenman 6-3,6-4 who were both unseeded. Jacob had come through the top half of the draw by beating the number one seed in the first round. The match was played in a highly competitive sprit but with great sportsmanship.
Not to be outdone by the boys two Edge girls made it a 4 Winners Trophy weekend; Ellie Margolin won the Girls 14 L1B at Sportime Harbor Island and Olivia Ashton closed out a dominant weekend by winning the Girls 16 L1B at Alley Pond.
