Chess Camp at Saw Mill Club
This summer, The Westchester Chess School will be holding a series of one week chess camps at Saw Mill Club.
Camp Features
- Students will learn tactics, opening principles and endgame theory
- Chess notation and use of the chess clock will be covered
- Chess etiquette and everything needed to be able to play in a tournament will be covered
- We will take breaks from chess to get exercise at the club’s pool and basketball court
- Chess camp run by Peter Barkman, veteran chess teacher, player and tournament director
- Advanced students and those who already have a rating will cover difficult material
- Interested students will be able to play USCF rated games during the camp and get a USCF
(United States Chess Federation) rating.

Week 1 | August 22nd – August 26th |
Week 2 | August 29th – September 2nd |
- Campers must bring their own lunch, or lunch can be purchased at the club
- Students can sign up for one or more weeks
Cost:
- Regular Registration Fee: $500 per week
